An Action-filled Novel of The Second World War
Heaven's Pavement is the story of three paratroopers from a fictitious Parachute Infantry Regiment, the 705th. The author, the late Juarez Roberts, was a paratrooper in the very real 507th PIR and fought with them in every campaign from the first jump into Normandy all the way to Combat Varsity and victory. Months before he died, he wrote in his foreword to the book:
"When the surviving paratroopers came home from World War II we were thought of by some as heroes. We thought of ourselves as no more than good troopers. The real heroes were those who died over there. Heaven's Pavement is a salute to those who will never come home and who will be a sacred part of the soil of Europe forever."
